I was a playboy bunny, we knew he wanted sex when we heard ‘Daddy’s in the room’
HOLLY Madison was giggling with her friends, vodka and cranberry in hand, when a menacing voice bellowed from the doorway, “Daddy’s in the bedroom.”
It was the then 21-year-old’s first night at the infamous Playboy Mansion – and the man at the helm, Hugh Hefner, had just arrived.
The voice was that of his “girlfriend recruiter,” an unknown woman who was lining up the young, glamorous women Hugh was bringing to live with him in his Hollywood home.
And although Holly had believed she would be nothing more than a glamorous sidekick to the infamous 70-year-old when she met the recruiter at a party, she had turned to Hugh in a new podcast on her first night there and said: ” Daddy. Do you want to get the new girl?”
The Playboy millionaire – who was known as the ‘Godfather of the sexual revolution’ and died in 2017 – then had sex with Holly in front of the rest of his ‘girlfriends’.
She explains: “And the next I know he’s on top of me and I’m thinking, okay, so that happened.

“I would lie at the foot of the bed because later things would become so routine that he wouldn’t move. He would be like a bump against the tree trunk,” she adds, referring to the fact that he would often lie on his bed lay. the bed while the girls took turns having sex with him.
She was then taken to her own room where she would sleep for the rest of the night and in the morning she was made one of Hugh’s girlfriends and moved in permanently.
I was like a piece of meat that she had to throw under him so she would look better and win points.”
Holly
“People have asked me before, if you didn’t like the sex or if it scared you, why didn’t you just leave? But you have to understand that if I just leave, I’m going back to my problems because I have no place to live,” Holly explains.
“Besides, I just had sex with this guy, which is a big deal to me. Like I’m not a big one-night stander.”
Holly stayed with Hugh until 2008 and filmed several series of the MTV reality show Girls of the Playboy Mansion.
The series showed Hugh’s girlfriends living the life of luxury and having romantic dates with the Playboy mogul, but never having sex.
According to previous girlfriends Izabella St James and Zoe Gregory Paul, they were each paid $1,000 a week, as well as $2,000 for wardrobe updates, health insurance and money to pay for plastic surgery while living there.
They revealed that they saw the relationship as a two-way street. “He needed us to be by his side and look pretty, right?” said Isabella. “It was understood. We just knew we were living in his world and that we had to follow the rules.”
But the girls who lived there have since spoken out about what really happened at the mansion, with allegations that girls were given ‘thigh opener’ drugs and lured into orgies twice a week.
‘I felt like a piece of meat’
In 2002, Bridget Marquardt, then 26, moved into Hugh’s palace with Holly.
Both women appeared – along with Kendra Wilkinson – on the TV show Girls Next Door, which was filmed at the mansion.
Facts you didn’t know about the Playboy Mansion
Girlfriends versus playmates
Rumor has it that Hugh Hefner would have two to a dozen “girlfriends” with him at a time. These friends are not to be confused with Playmates. Each friend had her own room, but one ‘special lady’ was referred to as friend number one and stayed with Hef in his room. Each friend received a weekly bonus of $1,000 (£760).
Hef’s wild side
The Playboy mansion was home to a private zoo. It was one of the few private homes that actually had a zoo permit. Hefner was a fan of birds. Among his collection – many of which roamed the grounds – were peacocks, macaws, flamingos, toucans and ducks.
The Elvis legend
There was a secret room in the mansion called ‘The Elvis Room’. Legend has it that the king himself, Elvis Presley, had a small slumber party in the room with up to eight eager bunnies.
It showed a glimpse of what happened at the Playboy Mansion – especially the girls’ luxurious lifestyle of multiple beauty appointments, long lunches and vacations.
But according to both Holly and Bridget, many details were left out, including the sex with Hugh Hefner himself.
According to Holly, now 44, she was always sworn to secrecy about her interactions with Hugh.
Although she did not reveal how often she had sex with Hugh, she recalled feeling like “a piece of meat” and “feeling so dirty and so used.”
Holly and Bridget say they felt cared for by the female recruiter, with Holly saying: “She was super friendly and she really put me at ease, but there’s a reason for that of course.”
“But basically I was like a piece of meat that she had to throw under him so she would look better and win points.”
Both admit they felt pressure to agree to sex with Hugh – realizing they could be dumped and kicked out of the mansion if they didn’t do what was expected of them.
”Everyone wanted to be there – every celebrity, every girl I knew wanted to be part of it, to be a playmate, to go to the parties,” Bridget recalls.
”They had the best parties in the world there.
“It’s the place where you wanted to go and be seen, and you wanted to be part of that whole lifestyle.”
Although the Playboy Mansion was the place to be at the time, its popularity has waned over the past decade and it was sold to billionaire Daren Metropoulos in 2016 for $100 million.
But for the girls who lived and worked in the home, which had 29 rooms, it was a different story.
Now they reveal everything on their podcast Girls at the next levelthe couple shares what it was really like in the bedroom.
Bedroom secrets
Holly says: “The girls won’t admit to having sex with him. At the time, after I moved in, the recruiter told me never say you’re having sex with him.”
But according to Holly, it often happened that the girls would wait in his bedroom for him to come in.
We had no voice at that time; it was very difficult.
Bridget Marquardt
“Everyone wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible,” says Holly.
‘As if none of the females felt like it. I’m sorry to burst the bubble, but none of us felt like it.”
Holly revealed in a more recent podcast: ”When I think about the worst, I just think about everything in the bedroom and just the fact that everyone would be invited in there.
“We couldn’t agree on who could come in and who could watch, and who could do anything – and it was just traumatizing.”
Bridget agreed, saying it couldn’t get “worse” than what happened in the bedrooms.
“We had that No voice at that time – it was really difficult.”
‘Constant fighting and backstabbing’
The pair were often with Hugh as they hit the streets of LA, hanging from his arm with an army of blonde-haired beauties, at one point having seven girlfriends at once.
Despite footage of them all laughing together, things were much more chaotic behind the scenes.
Holly revealed: “It was an absolute nightmare. It was just horrible, like it was impossible to get along with the other girls. There was constant backstabbing. I just felt like I was in constant fight or flight.”
And what fueled the fire even further was that they had to strip naked together in the evening.
You literally sit there naked and have sex in front of a group of people who hate you.
Holly Madison
She continued, “I can’t explain to you how embarrassing that whole routine was, especially since we got to later on in the road when there was a lot of conflict with the other girls.
“You’re literally sitting there naked having sex in front of a group of people who hate you and talk about you while you’re having sex.”
The pair admit they were ‘naive’ at the time, thinking all the girls would get along well.
“I thought we were going to be like BFFs and it was going to be so much fun. I thought it was going to be like slumber parties, like hanging out in each other’s rooms and borrowing clothes, and just really fun,” Holly said.
