Actor Manoj Bajpayee’s Almora property under scanner – Times of India

ALMORA: As the Uttarakhand government considers introducing a strict law to protect agricultural land from acquisition by “outsiders”, Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee has become the second well-known personality – after UP wife Neta Raja Bhaiya – to own his property in Almora has been under the scanner.
Almora DM Alok Pandey confirmed that investigations are underway into Bajpayee takeover and several similar cases. In recent weeks, Uttarakhand has launched a campaign to enforce stricter land use laws, especially in environmentally sensitive areas.
The state government is now assessing whether Bajpayee’s acquisition is compliant with local land regulations. In 2021, the actor had purchased around 15 nalis (one nali equals 2,160 square feet) of land in Kapkot for the development of a meditation and yoga centre. However, locals expressed concern, noting that no construction work has taken place.
