The Minister of Defense of Pakistan said on Wednesday that he would continue to welcome American efforts to help the crisis of his country with India harmless and praised President Trump to evoke a quick end of the conflict.

India said at the beginning of Wednesday that his armed forces had hit nine locations In Pakistan and Pakistan -controlled Kashmir in response to a terrorist attack in Kashmir last month. Pakistani officials said that at least 20 people were killed in the air strikes.

While Pakistani officials said that Pakistan reserves the right to take revenge, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Minister of Defense, suggested another tone, which suggests that Pakistan had already reacted by shooting Indian planes and drones, also known as unmanned aircraft or UAVs

He said that his country would refrain from further action if India would not take any extra steps to attack and agreed with an independent investigation.

ASIF said that Pakistan Air Force had shot five Indian planes and two drones. In addition, Pakistani Jamming devices and electronic warfare equipment stopped some Indian rocket launches and forced other planes to make emergency landings, he said.

Indian officials and Western diplomats, as well as witnesses and local media, have said that two or three Indian planes fell on the Indian side of the border.

“We could have removed 10 planes yesterday,” said Mr Asif. “We had the chance, but we limited it to five aircraft and two UAVs because we did not want to expand this situation.”

Mr. Trump’s comments on Tuesday that he hopes that the conflict “ends very quickly” was useful, Mr Asif said. He added that he would welcome American efforts to “lower the temperature in the region.”

The tensions between India and Pakistan have been since the Terrorist attack in Kashmir controlled by the IndianIn which shooters killed 26 people, almost all Hindus.

American diplomats have been in contact with Pakistani and Indian officials. And Tulsi Gabbard, the director of National Intelligence, has had a lot of contact with Indian officials to make the situation harmless, said American officials.

Immediately after the attack, India said the attackers had “Cross -border couplings.” Pakistan disputed the indictment and called for an international investigation.

Indian officials said the strikes at the beginning of Wednesday in the territory controlled by Pakistan were aimed at destroying terrorist training camps. The Pakistani government has denied that the sites were in some connection with terrorist groups.

Around midnight local time, India launched 78 planes to attack locations in Kashmir and Punjab, said Mr Asif. The planes did not come to Pakistan’s territory, he added.

Mr Asif said that the Pakistani armed services are the right to stop in India in India, if they discovered that the Indians are preparing for a further attack, but he also said that Pakistan was ready to de-escalate.

“Limitation is still being applied,” said Mr Asif. “But if the same situation occurs tonight, the situation can flare up very easily.”

The Minister of Defense repeated his call for an international investigation and said he hoped that American officials would force India to accept such an investigation.

“The administration could suggest a committee of two or three other countries,” he said. “A credible body can be set up. We don’t want this to stay in the dark.”

Both India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons, something that has increased the concerns of American officials. But Mr Asif said that he had not had a risk with the dispute that escalated to a nuclear conflict at the moment.

The nuclear capacities of the two countries, he said, was a stabilizing factor that prevented disputes escalating too much, but he added: “The risk is always there. You can’t deny that.”
