RANCHI: JMM patriarch Shibu Soren, who has so far stayed away from the election campaign, emerged on Monday to release the party manifesto “Adhikar Patra” with the slogan “Ek Hi Naara, Hemant Dobara”. While the party has earlier released a manifesto with Congress and RJD, “Adkhikar Patra” clarifies its stand on issues like employment, social security, women rights and flagship programmes.
JMM reiterated its promise to increase reservation for OBCs in government jobs from 14% to 27% while allowing 28% reservation for STs and 12% for SCs, and also promised to give 33% reservation to women in government jobs. It proposed a reduction in prices of LPG cylinders to Rs 450, and promised to increase the amount given to eligible women under Maiya Samman Yojna to Rs 2,500 per month. “We will also increase the amount paid as pension to widows, elderly and specially-abled persons to Rs 2,500 per month while ensuring that health insurance coverage is available to even those working in the unorganized sector.”
JMM laid emphasis on employment and released a department plan for employment of two lakh youth. It also said it would cancel the land bank program of the previous government and issue land titles to the landless, besides issuing caste and domicile certificates to those who do not have land records within six months of taking office.
