The police are investigating the mysterious death of a British cyclist in Lanzarote.
The nameless 55-year-old was discovered lying down by his bike on a road between the village of Guatiza and the east coast of the Canary Island.
A walker raised the alarm on just after noon and although the care providers ran on stage, they could not breathe new life into the tourist and he was declared dead where he was found.
His partner is said to be told about his death in the Holiday Hotel of the couple where she waited until he finished his bike ride.
The cause of his death is now being investigated by the civil guard.
Police sources said that there were no superficial signs of some injuries to the man who was pointing to the holiday maker who had been hit by a car, but they waited for the autopsy results to see if he had died of natural causes.
The possibility that he suffered a health problem while cycling and was unable to reach a more populated area to ask for help on time is not excluded.
It was not immediately clear tonight if he had worn his cell phone.

The local police in the service of the Teguise town hall were also mobilized, although they then take over the civil guard and wait for the arrival of judicial employees, so that the body could be removed for post-mortem.
Lanzarote is a popular destination for cyclists of all levels. The roads on the island are well maintained and there are many bicycle companies that offer both rental bikes and excursions.
Unlike Tenerife and Gran Canaria, you don't need much climbing experience, although the island can sometimes be very windy.
The area where the British cyclist was found dead is about a 20 -minute drive north of the Lanzarote Capital Arrecife.
