NEW DELHI: Industry veteran Arvinder Singh Sahney has been appointed as the new Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IndianOil). With nearly 30 years of experience in the field, Sahney takes over at a crucial time for the energy giant.
Sahney’s journey at IndianOil began in 1993 after graduating as a Chemical Engineer from HBTI, Kanpur. He has held various senior positions within the company, gaining experience in refinery operations, technical services and the petrochemical sector.
In particular, he played a key role in the commissioning of the 15 MMTPA Paradip refinerya project that has significantly increased India’s refining capacity. Before his appointment as chairman, Sahney was responsible for leading IndianOil’s petrochemical division.
In addition to his new role, Sahney also holds the position of chairman Terra Clean Limiteda subsidiary of IndianOil dedicated to sustainable solutions. He is also a member of the board of directors of IndOil Montney Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of IndianOil, based in Canada.
