I spent hours giving my house a Christmas makeover with giant inflatables, but people say it’s way too much
A WOMAN has revealed she gave the front of her house an epic Christmas makeover.
With 42 days until December 25, the savvy mum was able to bring the festive spirit into her home thanks to great value purchases from Home Bargains and The Range.
Happy with her overhaul, that one functions Sporting huge inflatables and light-up trees, Vicky Donley took to social media to share a close-up of her festive scene, leaving many open-mouthed.
But people were divided on the makeover – while many thought it looked ‘great’, others described it as ‘too much’ and shared concerns about how it would cope with bad weather.
Post on Extreme Coupons and Bargains UKa private Facebook group with 2.5 million members, Vicky shared a photo of her beautiful display.
Alongside the post she wrote: “Not properly explained yet but how surreal is the inflatable from Home Bargains for £49.99!”
Not only was Vicky very happy with her inflatable house that she put on her front door, but she was also impressed with her light-up trees and LED reindeer.
She continued: “The luminous trees [cost] £35 each from B&Q, the LED Reindeer [was] offered for £20.99 and North Pole [was] offered for £29.99, both from The Range.”
Vicky confirmed that to ensure her discounted festive scene isn’t blown away by a strong gust of wind, she used strings and weights to secure her inflatables.
Vicky’s post has clearly left many jaws dropping as it was shared just a day ago, but quickly racked up 497 likes and 274 comments.
Social media users quickly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on Vicky’s decorations, but there were many differing opinions.
One user beamed: “Absolutely stunning.”
A second wrote: “I need it!”
While someone else chimed in: “Looks amazing.”
I’m not sure if it’s too much

At the same time, however, not everyone was so complimentary, as one person said: “If it stays, let us know.
“I’ve bought so many inflatables there for outdoor use and eventually the inflation stops as soon as the moisture gets into the fan.”
Will the Christmas pieces come out earlier this year?
It often feels like Christmas decorations and products appear in stores earlier every year.
Retailers typically start stocking holiday items well in advance of the holidays to take advantage of early buyers and extend the shopping period. Here are a few reasons why it looks like the Christmas pieces are coming out earlier this year:
Extended shopping season
Retailers are looking to extend the holiday shopping season to maximize sales. By releasing Christmas items earlier, they encourage people to start Christmas shopping earlier.
Consumer demand
Some consumers prefer to plan and shop for Christmas items well in advance, so stores are responding to this demand by stocking Christmas items earlier.
Marketing strategy
Early displays of Christmas items can create a festive atmosphere and build anticipation, encouraging people to get into the holiday spirit and spend.
Competition
Retailers compete to attract customers, and being the first to display holiday items can give them an edge.
Supply chain considerations
Given recent disruptions to global supply chains, stores could release holiday items earlier to ensure they have sufficient inventory and to spread demand over a longer period.
Meanwhile, another added: “Unfortunately this wouldn’t last an hour in East London.
“Thieves would make off with everything.”
