UP woman arrested for murdering father to foil his bid to sell family land | India News – Times of India
Police said the victim was found dead outside his home on October 15. Initially they thought it was a natural death, but the 70-year-old Satyawan mother expressed suspicion that he had been strangled by someone. The police sent the body for post-mortem and the autopsy report confirmed death by strangulation. After this, the police registered a murder case in the case and started a new investigation.
During interrogation of the family members, the suspect gave inconsistent answers and eventually admitted to the crime. Officers said she confessed to strangling her father with a scarf and claimed he continuously abused her because she opposed his efforts to sell the family land.
Shamli Superintendent of Police (SP) Ramsevak Gautam said Bhuriya was arrested two days ago and sent to jail.
