Amid the ongoing controversy over checking Thackery’s bag on the last three occasions, the minister posted a video on election commission.”
“BJP believes in fair elections and sound electoral system and follows all the rules of the honorable Election Commission. We all must contribute to a healthy electoral system and fulfill our duties to keep India as the strongest democracy in the world,” he added.
A few days ago, Thackeray had asked the EC officials if they had checked anyone else’s bags, adding that he wanted to see the video of officials checking the bags of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

“How much lower will the ‘Election Commission’ go?” the party says in its latest message.
“The way you inspected my bag, you also inspected Modi and Shah’s bags?” he asked, adding, “Shouldn’t the bags of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis be checked?”
“All these useless things are happening. I don’t consider it democratic. This cannot be a democracy. In a democracy, no one is big or small,” Thackeray said.
He further said that if the election authorities do not inspect the bags of senior leaders of the ruling alliance, the workers of Shiv Sena (UBT) and opposition party MVA will do so.
