Ted Lasso season 4 possible plot synopsis and rumors
Major spoilers follow Ted Lasso seasons 1-3.
The biggest question is over Ted Lasso season 4: What would it look like without Ted, considering his return to the United States? Would they bring him back? Or will season 4 be a spin-off, following Rebecca, Roy and Leslie, as their options have reportedly already been picked up in anticipation. Roy could certainly be an option as the newly appointed manager of AFC Richmond.
When speaking with Variety On what a season 4 could look like, Jason Sudeikis said: “The undertaking took at least as long as before due to the compactness of the stories. … And while we’re flattered by the curiosity of ‘Is this the last season,’ the fact is that, if you just go by time, this season has a Season 4 in it.”
Executive producer Brendan Hunt, aka Coach Beard, spoke Consequence on the potential beyond season 3, as the show has thus far followed a planned three-season arc: “Yes. After this, an arc is certainly possible. We’ve always seen it as kind of a three-stroke thing. Originally those three beats were going to be modeled more after what [the British] The office did, you know, six episodes, a special, boom, we’re done. We’ve definitely expanded on those beats, but that doesn’t mean the whole kit and caboodle are thrown away.
In Season 3 we saw Nate struggle to find his way in his new job at West Ham, suddenly returning to AFC Richmond with a lower level job towards the end of the season. Although aggressive towards Ted in the seasons thus far, his return to the club was met with Ted’s decision to leave and return to Kansas. Although Nate showed a different side to his character during season 3 with several panic attacks that hinted at a deeper meaning, the path was not pursued further. For Nate, there is certainly potential for more.
AFC Richmond wanted to make an impression in the Premier League in season 3. But the big speculation centers on the possibility of an AFC Richmond Women’s team. Conversations between Rebecca and Keeley definitely suggested this new path for the show. But which storyline could be the main driving force behind this? Ted Lasso season 4, we’ll have to wait and see. The door is wide open for more, with Ted or not.
Ted Lasso: Will there be more seasons?
It’s hard to say if the show will continue for longer Ted Lasso Season 4 hasn’t officially been greenlit yet. However, Coach Beard’s suggestion for another three-beat arc is positive, but until we know more about Season 4, there’s unfortunately not much to say.
