I have an apron belly…trolls say it looks like I have my ‘body backwards’
A PLUS-SIZE woman with the so-called apron belly has been duped by mean mean people who advise her to undergo surgery to repair her ‘backward’ body.
Stylish fashionista Lindsey is a size 22/24 and has an apron stomach, medically known as pannus stomach.
According to Very good healththe term is used to describe a sagging stomach or skin hanging from the abdomen, which sometimes occurs after pregnancy or weight change.
It’s not just reserved for plus-size people. Having pannus stomach is normal for many people, but it can also cause discomfort and painful skin infections.
Thousands of body-positive people are using their social media platforms to serve as reminders that every figure, no matter the shape or size, is worth loving and calling beautiful.
Among them is Lindsey who proudly calls herself the ”Apron Belly Girlie‘ on Instagram, where she has amassed nearly 24,000 fans.
For years, Lindsey previously told her followers, she too thought that there were many clothing items and trends that were simply ‘off limits’ for her.
The brunette beauty, from Texas, the US, is said to avoid crop tops, skirts and swimsuits without a skirt on top.
But after finally embracing her body and learning to love it, Lindsey now wears whatever she wants and regularly shares fantastic outfit ideas on social media.
“It’s not about not wearing something, it’s about finding the right FIT for your body type and finding styles that suit YOU,” she reminded her followers.
But despite the positive and uplifting message, Lindsey – who has been brutally compared to Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. – has also become a target of nasty trolls.
After the stunner posted a video of herself rocking a flowy skirt, a cruel troll said: ”I think you’re wearing the body backwards.”
Someone else wrote: ”Get surgery.”
“The legs don’t match the rest of the body,” a third added.
Fortunately, there is also a lot of support from people who urge others to be kinder to each other.
”Can’t a person in clothes just exist? Comments here are unnecessary,” one Instagram user thought.
