Gayle King looked surprised after the CEO of Delta said that President Trump's cuts until the Federal Aviation Authority were not the fault of Monday's plane crash in Toronto.
The host of the CBS Morning kept her head aside and gave a surprised look on Wednesday when Ed Bastian said that the resignation of 300 employees had no impact on safety.
Bastian said: 'The cutbacks have no influence on us. I have been in close communication with the Minister of Transport.
'I understand that the cutbacks are currently something that raises questions, but the reality is that there are more than 50,000 people who work at the FAA. And the cuts, I understand, were 300 people, and they were in non-critical safety functions.
Bastian added: 'The Trump administration has committed itself to deeply investing in terms of improving the general technologies used in air traffic control systems and modernizing air.
'They have committed themselves to hire extra controllers and researchers and safety and researchers. So no, I'm not worried about that at all. '
He responded to a leading question from King who asked whether the dismissed had influenced 'safety'.
The journalist then suggested that Americans were 'nervous' after a whole series of recent crashes throughout the country.
She seemed to suggest that Trump's budget reductions to the FAA – who supervises safety in the air – had done little to calm the fears of travelers.

Bastian, depicted, also said that the non -created pilots who worked for Delta daughter company were experienced and until the job. A probe in what caused the crash continues
Maga Fixer Charlie Kirk was one of those who noticed King's response to Bastian's answer and claimed that the experienced journalist was left in a 'State of Shock' by his answer.
In the meantime, Bastian insisted that the pilots that have not yet been identified and until work as an investigation into what caused the Jet Korktrekker and Vat to exist.
“All these pilots train for these circumstances,” said the Delta boss.
“They fly under all kinds of circumstances at all airports in which we assess, so there is nothing specific with regard to experience that I would look at.”
Bastian also shared his reaction in learning about the dangerous landing on Monday.
“You can imagine that when I heard the text minutes after it happened, there was a regional jet upside down on an active runway with 80 people on board, how I felt without knowing what happened,” he said .
Bastian added that although he understands the concern of the public about recent aviation accidents, flying remains the safest form of transport.
“The reality is, it is safer than the drive I took this morning to go to my office,” he said.

Passengers leave the Delta Air Lines CRJ-900 Jet after it crashed at the landing on Toronto Pearson International Airport
The Delta Jet turned on his roof as he landed on Monday at the Pearson Airport of Toronto, but all 80 people survived on board and that pain had relatively minor injuries, the director of the airport said.
'I want to express my deep appreciation and thank you for the crew on board the plane. Our Endeavor crew performed heroic, but also as expected. This is what we train for, “Bastian added.
“The fact that they could evacuate that aircraft just as quickly as under extreme circumstances in combination with the fact that all 80 people with limited physical injuries walked out of the plane was really proof of safety that is embedded in the systems.”
