The answers to today’s Quordle, game #1031, are…

There aren’t many words in the Wordle/Quordle dictionary that end in Z. There are BLITZ, GLITZ, HERTZ, WALTZ, WHIZ and TOPAZ – and I think that’s probably it. So noticing the latter today may have been a difficult task, because your brain probably doesn’t want to think about it. ‘No, no, it must have said to you. Z’s don’t end in words, it must be an N or a Y or an R or a T, right?’ But when all likely answers have been ruled out, you have to move on to the improbable – and that was the case today.

That’s one of the potentially difficult words in today’s game. MINTY could also be NINTY, while LAPEL has a repeating L and BRUSH could be CRUSH. In short, you will have to work hard to solve them all.
