A 20p hack prevents cowboy boots from chafing – ideal for Taylor Swift fans
WHAT girl doesn’t love to complete her outfit with a cool cowboy boot?
Whether you’re going to a bachelorette party, the Eras Tour or a music festival, they are the shoes to wear on a night out.
Fashion brand Ego shared a handy tip to ensure your boots stay comfortable all night long.
Anyone who’s ever worn a pair of cowboy boots with a skirt or dress probably knows that your calves can inevitably chafe as a result.
The longer you wear your boots, the more heat is retained in them.
This can cause the material to rub against your skin, which can cause discomfort.

The friction can also cause a squeaking sound every time you take a step.
According to Ego, there is a budget-friendly solution to this specific problem.
Experts recommend sprinkling a small amount of talcum powder inside your boots before putting them on.
For just £1.50 you can buy a bottle of Sainsbury’s Little Ones Baby Powder.
And a whole bottle can last you a very long time, because you only need a little bit each time you wear it.
This trick also helps absorb moisture from your boots, keeping them smelling fresh for longer.
Talcum powder helps keep the skin dry and is therefore an important tool to prevent chafing.
So if you’re attending one of the last two Eras shows at Wembley and plan on wearing cowboy boots as part of your outfit, it might be worth a quick apply of sunscreen first.
Since no one can see the product, you can use it as liberally as you like.
You can apply it directly to the sole of your boots, but also to the sides of your leg.
Use a clean cloth and rub it directly over the edges of the inner material.
Is Taylor Swift’s Eras Merchandise Worth the Price?
BEFORE seeing Taylor in action, Fabulous Digital Writer Leanne Hall explains whether the merchandise is really worth the price:
“As 29-year-old Swiftie, who was in the top 0.1% of Taylor listeners on Spotify last year, I can say I’m super excited to see her on the Era Tour in London later this month.
“Given the three-hour setlist, it’s no surprise that Taylor was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. Fans lucky enough to get a ticket know they’re in for the concert of the century.
“The Eras Tour catapulted the singer/songwriter into the billionaire club and it was no surprise that some tickets in the UK sold for almost £700 each.
“The tickets were expensive, but her merchandise wasn’t far off the price most artists charge. I’m definitely going to spend hundreds of dollars to get tour jerseys and t-shirts.
“If I paid £70 for a hoodie I would think twice about shopping in a store, but this is no ordinary hoodie.
“Yes, it makes you look great when you wear it to the store, but it’s also a piece of your day that you can keep forever and look back on fondly. And for me and many other Swifties, no price tag can match that.”
Remember to turn your boots upside down before putting them on. This will prevent you from making a mess when you take them off.
If there is still powder on the outside of your boots, you can wipe them off with a damp cloth.
Ego promoted the cheap and cheerful fashion trick to his followers on Instagram.
They demonstrated the technique with a pair of black boots with white embroidered details.
“Comfort guaranteed, baby,” they wrote in the clip’s caption.
