Bassett is a nurse with over 10 years’ experience in the sector and the founder of a UK-based company Sian Aesthetics.

In an interview with The US Sun, she shared beauty habits for a youthful look.

TREAT YOURSELF

Bassett said home remedies can do wonders for the skin and some of the best remedies are cooking products.

“My unique anti-aging solution would be to incorporate adaptogens like ginseng into your skin care routine as a way to reduce stress,” she said.

“Using natural ingredients, like honey or turmeric, in homemade face masks is another fantastic option if you want a healthy, glowing complexion.”

PRESS THE SNOOZE BUTTON

Bassett stressed that rest is essential to keeping skin healthy and youthful.

“Adequate sleep is essential for skin revitalization. Therefore, try to sleep 7 to 9 hours every night if you want to keep your face young and healthy,” the researcher said.

“The improved circulation that comes from physical activity does wonders for the distribution of nutrients and the removal of waste products.

“However, excessive exercise can cause inflammation and affect the appearance of your skin, so be sure not to overdo it.”

FIGHT WRINKLES

According to Bassett, a rejuvenating beauty routine consists of a gentle cleanser, an antioxidant serum, a hyaluronic acid cream, a retinol treatment and a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

However, there are other key ingredients that can be used to address specific skin concerns.

“To reduce fine lines and wrinkles without injections, I recommend focusing on products with peptides,” she said.

Peptides have been found to stimulate both collagen production and skin elasticity.

I recommend starting to use antioxidants from the age of 20.

“On the other hand, gentle exfoliation removes dead skin cells, while facial massages stimulate lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness.”

She said retinoids support healthy cell turnover and are worth investing in to slow the signs of aging.

“I find that antioxidants, like vitamin C, are incredibly effective at protecting your skin from environmental aggressors,” she said.

Meanwhile, hyaluronic acids help you maintain adequate moisture levels in the skin, with the best results being achieved in people who start taking care of their skin at an early age.

“I recommend using antioxidants in your early 20s, retinoids in your mid-20s, and hyaluronic acid in your late 20s.”

Bassett shared her tips after makeup artist Laura Kay shared specific product recommendations with The US Sun.

Kay said that Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with Hyaluronic Acid is great for hydrating the skin.

She recommended Murad Retinol to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
