‘A dream to wear,’ Sainsbury’s customers rave after finding ‘perfect summer top’
FASHION fans call a supermarket purchase a “dream to wear” for summer.
It’s a trendy style that keeps you cool when needed and can be worn both formally and informally.
It’s no surprise then that the Tu Clothing pointelle stitch polo shirt has already sold out in many sizes on the Sainsbury’s website.
The crochet top is available in sizes 8-24 and costs £20.
Available in black and cream, with short sleeves and a collar detail.
Tu Clothing bosses say: “Achieve modern summer style with our short sleeve top.
“Beautifully designed in a pointelle stitch, available in a polo style with a classic collar. A must-have for your collection this season.”
After recently buying it in a fashion purchase, Hay took to social media en masse to cheer over the trendy top.
She said: “I just discovered Tu’s new, perfect top for the summer we’re having now!
“If you’re looking for a beautiful, comfortable, affordable and gorgeous style that offers just a little more coverage but still looks and feels perfect for summer, this is the answer.
“This gorgeous pointelle T-shirt is a dream to wear and comes in cream and black.”
And her fellow shoppers seem to agree. One enthused: “I’m really into all things pointelle and crochet at the moment.”
While a second wrote: “Perfect texture for summer.”
The crochet top has also received five-star reviews from satisfied customers on the Tu Clothing website.
One of them said: “I really like this top. It’s not floppy and it’s a nice colour. I just wish I looked as good in it as the model.”
“I’m so glad I bought these in both colors. They fit perfectly and are true to size,” said someone else.
Meanwhile, a third added: “I’ve been looking for an affordable crochet top for summer. This one is such good quality and fits great. Looks amazing too!”
If this has inspired you to visit your nearest Tu Clothing aisle in Sainsbury’s, you might also want to keep an eye out for an item that shoppers are hailing as the “skirt of your dreams”.
The Leopard Print Side Split Midaxi Skirt is available in sizes 8 to 24 and costs £22.
And you’ll be totally trendy when you wear it, because the leopard print from the 90s is back this summer.
Why supermarket fashion is in top shape, says Abby McHale, Fabulous’ deputy fashion editor
I love shopping in the supermarket. Although a number of large supermarkets have gone bankrupt in recent years, the style on the shelves has become increasingly popular.
Now, whenever I go to the supermarket to do my weekly shopping, I always stop by the clothing department to see what’s new.
Not only are the products competitively priced, the supermarkets also respond well to the wishes of their customers.
From basic wardrobe items, quality denim, beautiful dresses to fun accessories, they really have it all.
Nowadays I only buy my jeans in the supermarket. At Sainsbury’s I have Tu’s and at Tesco I have F&F’s.
And for me, there’s no better feeling than when someone compliments you on your outfit and you know it came from the supermarket.
Last week I bought a beautiful black shoulder bag from Sainsbury’s for just £14. Many people said it looked much more expensive.
Working in fashion I get to see and feel a lot of clothes and I can tell you the quality of the pieces from these stores is amazing, especially for the price.
