Former Liverpool -goalkeeper Pepe Reina has announced his retirement of professional football.
The 42-year-old, who is currently playing for Como, will stop his gloves for good after the last match of the club of the season Inter Milan On Friday.
Announcing the news in a chat with Movistar+ this week, Reina Said: “A very nice career comes to an end, a very complete life.
“I feel very happy for what I have experienced.
“It was many years ago … I didn’t expect it, but I think time has come and I feel like bringing it here.”
Reina then unveiled when he made the decision.
He continued: “I decided to stop last January. I spoke with my wife and we decided together.
“The satisfaction is that I now want it to end. Last summer there was a moment when I had a hard time because I couldn’t find a project that excited me and I had that little thorn in my side.
“I had more to offer and this year was the one who showed me that I am now empty, in the sense that I can no longer offer football from this position.”
The Spaniard added: “I am very happy. It has been a privilege.

“Now you don’t appreciate it that bad, but when I look back, we will remain one of the leading teams in history, I have been very lucky. I have shared a dressing room with some great people.”
Reina kicked his professional gaming career in 1999 with Barcelona‘s C team.
He then started making his first team debut the following year and appeared 49 times for the La Liga Giants.
The keeper continued Villarreal spent in 2002 and three years with the Spanish side Champions League For the first time.
