A look inside mom of 22 Sue Radford’s chic end-of-summer Disney cruise with the kids
SUE and Noel Radford, the parents of Britain’s largest family, are currently enjoying a lavish trip to Florida with their large brood.
After spending a free vacation at Universal and Disney World, it looks like they’ve left on the Disney Cruise.
Sue, 49, mother of 22 from Lancashire, posted snaps on Instagram from what appeared to be a cruise.
Two of her girls seemed to enjoy it the view from the balcony of their room while pointing at a pirate sailing ship.
Later, the children posed in adorable matching Elsa dresses against a view of the ocean.
It seemed that the family was thoroughly enjoying life on board, as evidenced by the delicious desserts and cakes.
And during dinner, Sue let us glimpse her meal: beef wellington with potatoes and gravy.
The children seemed to be having a great time at the table, as Sue explained that they had worksheets to ‘draw your own character’.
Back in the room, the Radford mother said the “highlight of every evening” was the towel art created by the staff.
She showed how the children’s cuddly toys had been placed on the bed, with a sea lion-shaped towel in the middle and sunglasses on.
On the way home
Despite the trip looking fun, Sue admitted she was “so excited to get home” after Katie – who is not travelling – the holiday – said she was counting the days until their return, as she did not enjoy the empty house.
Disney Cruise prices vary depending on a number of factors, including the length of the trip, the ship, the cabin chosen, and the destination.
The Radfords haven’t revealed which ship they’ll be sailing on, but a Disney cruise for two costs £759 ($1,000).
Sue keeps fans updated on their activities through messages on their Instagram page.
Last Thursday, Sue, Noel and the rest of the group went to the famous IHOP for breakfast.
While Sue enjoyed a cup of coffee, Bonnie, five, seemed delighted with her French toast with fruit and chocolate dip.
Disney fun
Next they went to Epcot for the International Food & Wine Festival 2024, with Sue who a click of herself while holding a brochure for the event.
Attentive fans also noticed that Sue had treated herself to a new accessory – a £79.99 Loungefly bag.
The matriarch has quite the collection of Disney bags and it seems like she takes one with her on every visit to the theme park.
This time she went for a Minnie Mouse one, with a huge coral bow on top, next to coral pink ears.
Sue showed off her new bag and also showed off her Disney manicure – with little mouse outlines in white on her nails – while enjoying a drink pink Champagne.
The family ended the day with a visit to an open-air cinema on the beach.
Although it is currently 88 degrees in Florida, there was even a small fire going. The children looked very happy with their marshmallows.
Those who didn’t enjoy the marshmallows entertained themselves by playing in the white sand.
Then they sat in lounge chairs on the beach to watch the evening’s show. film.
Is the Disney Cruise worth it?
Fantastic author Becky Pemberton was lucky enough to spend time on the Disney Wish cruise ship and gave her opinion…
This 1,100-foot-long floating theme park is the largest in the Disney fleet, with three- and four-night itineraries to Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral, Florida.
While the ship is a true treasure for Mickey, Marvel and princess lovers, Star Wars fans will be in their element with the many galactic delights this massive vessel has to offer at every corner of the globe.
At the Oceaneer Club, which is accessible via a slide, kids can make an emergency landing in the epic Star Wars-themed Cargo Bay.
Here they learn how to care for exotic creatures on the planet Batuu, such as the adorable sea-dwelling Porgs.
Keen-eyed fans may even spot some Porg poop (yes, really!) created specifically for the cruise ship by Lucasfilm.
Or if they’d rather get involved in combat, kids can train with superheroes like Black Panther and Spider-Man at the Marvel Super Hero Academy before taking on virtual villains.
There’s no shortage of options for adults either, and smoking cocktails, like at The Chancellor, is one of the reasons to visit the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge.
But if you’d rather swim and soak up the sun, every passenger will be spoiled for choice. The Disney Wish has more pools and deck space than any other Disney ship, including the new Toy Story Splash Zone.
It is also the only one to feature a Disney attraction at sea: the 230-metre-long AquaMouse, a water coaster that shoots visitors into a water tunnel suspended above the upper deck.
Plus, there’s an adults-only infinity pool, a great place to watch the sunset.
You’ll also have a choice of brilliant dining options. The restaurants here bring popular Disney films to life and our first evening is spent in the Frozen-themed restaurant Arendelle, where we meet the characters themselves as they celebrate Anna and Kristoff’s engagement.
Disney is currently the only major cruise line to offer fireworks at sea. The shells are made of a special biodegradable material that is safe for fish.
Our cruise includes a day at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. While we enjoy the snorkeling and beach barbecue, we can’t wait to get back on board and continue the adventure.
