A new The Sims mobile game has arrived – and no, it’s not The Sims 5
A new one The Sims mobile game has been spotted on the Google Play Store and before you get too excited, no, it has nothing to do with it The Sims5. The game, which currently bears the title The Sims Labs: City Stories is part of the recently announced The Sims Labs platform, which serves as a testing ground for upcoming products and features.
The Google Play Store listing describes The Sims Labs: City Stories as “a brand new exciting construction simulation game”. It takes place in the town of Plumbrook, where your player character has recently moved. Judging from the screenshots, the gameplay appears to be traditional The Simsbuilding style and interacting with city residents.

Although the game does not appear to be available for download at the moment, reports an anonymous account on X/Twitter has apparently shared early gameplay footage. They claim that the game is semi-open world and uses a mix of elements The Sims Mobile And The Sims FreePlay.
Their footage shows the player interacting with the fan favorite The Sims character Bella Goth, suggesting there will be callback references for a long time to come The Sims players. The overall interface is quite reminiscent of previous mobile installments, with a few elements, such as a bright blue player level bar, that I can immediately identify as borrowed from The Sims Mobile.
Considering the use of all these supposed placeholder items, it’s also pretty clear that this title is still in very early development. There are also some visual bugs present, especially with the character animations and extremely flat lighting. Still a new one The Sims game is always quite exciting and I’m looking forward to finding out more about what this could be.
If you’d rather stick with a currently released game, The Sims4 is now available as a free-to-play title on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, in addition to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility.
