'Adani is safe under BJP': Rahul Gandhi's jibe against PM Modi
NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi on Monday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘ek hai toh safe hai’ rhetoric as he explained the link between the slogan and the Dharavi project in Mumbai given to Adani.
“Narendra Modi’s slogan is: when we are united, we are safe. The question is: who is one, who is safe, and whose is it safe?” he said at a press conference.

“The answer is: there is Narendra Modi, Adani, Amit Shah and there is Safe Adani. At the same time, it is the people of Maharashtra and Dharavi who are suffering losses,” he added.
Terming the Maharashtra elections as a battle between the billionaires and the poor, Rahul said the Congress government would side with the farmers, the poor and the unemployed.
“The election of Maharashtra is the election of ideology, it is between a select group of billionaires and the poor. The billionaires want the land of Mumbai. Our idea is to provide help to farmers, the poor and the unemployed. The main problems are employment and inflation. ” he said.
“We have clearly said that our focus is to help women, we will put Rs 3,000 in the account of each woman, there would be free bus travel for them,” he added and went on to list other actions that the grand old party would undertake if it comes to power:
  • Women get Rs 3,000 every month
  • Women get free bus facilities
  • Farm loans up to Rs 3 lakh will be waived
  • Rs 7,000 per quintal will be available for soybean
  • There will be a fair price commission for onion farmers
  • There will be a fair MSP for cotton
  • A caste census will be conducted in Maharashtra
  • Health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh
  • Rs 4,000 support per month for the unemployed
  • Will generate 2.5 lakh government jobs
