Affordable air taxis will soon become a reality, says PM Modi – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Modi on Thursday said affordable air taxis will soon become a reality in India. On the second Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference of civil aviation, he spoke about creating a future where “everyone’s dream of flying comes true and the skies are open to all.” The two-day conference ended with the Prime Minister announcing the unanimous approval of a “Declaration of Delhi.”
“India’s aviation sector has undergone a transformation in the past decade. From being the exclusive domain of the wealthy in big cities, aviation has now become affordable for the lower middle class in small towns. OEDAN “We have flown 1.4 crore people in just a few years of its launch,” he said.
India is the fastest growing aviation market in the world, with airlines having ordered over 1,200 aircraft so far. While promising major investments in infrastructure, Modi also stressed two other factors that this sector needs: constant technological innovations and trained workforce. tnn
