NEW DELHI: Amid fears of attack by Khalistan supporters, Brampton Triveni Mandir and Community Center has canceled a consular camp that was to be organized in collaboration with the Indian High Commission to help retired Indian civil servants who have migrated continue receiving pension benefits.
The camp was scheduled to take place on November 17, where Hindus and Sikhs of Indian origin could renew their life certificates or provide proof of life so that their pension rights would continue.
On Monday, pro-Khalistan terrorist and SFJ chief said Gurpatwant Singh Pannunissued a statement saying Indian diplomats will be targeted at Hindu temples on November 16 and 17. He also made a veiled threat to attack Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. SFJ said it planned to counter Indian diplomats organizing life certificate camps in Canada, with specific challenges planned for Kalibari Mandir in Mississauga on November 16 and Triveni Mandir in Brampton on November 17.
“…saddened that Canadians now feel unsafe coming to Hindu temples here. We call on Peel Police to address the threats being spread against Brampton Triveni Mandir and provide safety to the Canadian Hindu community and the general public,” a statement from the temple said.
