Ahead of the farmers' kooch in Delhi, police are training riot control forces and conducting a practice exercise
KAITHAL: Ahead of farmers’ call to Delhi, the fast-track police force formed for riot control is being trained at the police line in Kaithal district.
According to a police spokesperson, the district police have formed three companies on the orders of Haryana’s Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapoor SP Rajesh Kalia to maintain law and order in the area. These include 2 male companies, 1 female company and also a shooting team. The personnel of these companies will be equipped with batons, tear gas and modern weapons and will remain ready to respond to any call.
The companies are trained at the Police Line in Kaithal, where they are taught how to form different formations, control crowds, use tear gas and handle weapons, among other things. This training is conducted under the supervision of DSP Sushil Prakash, with the help of ASI Ajay, SI Rohitash and ASI Surender from the Haryana Police Academy (HPA), a police spokesperson said.
DSP Sushil Prakash stated that if any law and order problem arises in the district, this police force will be ready to tackle any situation. If anti-social elements try to disturb the environment, strict legal action will be taken against them. In the future, these companies will continue to follow regular exercises and training.
The source said similar preparations are also being made in Jind district.
Farmers said they will start a paid march in groups from Shambhu border while “aamran anshan” will continue at the Khanauri border.
