ETAWAH: ‘Netaji’ showed the way to the country by connecting people socialist ideologySP chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday while paying rich tributes to his father and party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav in the Uttar Pradesh address. Speaking to reporters later, he said that the Samajwadi Party (SP) is putting forward the principles of Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was popularly known as ‘Netaji’.
He said, ‘Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) became known as Dharti Putra (son of the soil) only by fighting from this land. He saw great ups and downs in his political career and always showed a direction to society and politics. He has awakened social, economic and political consciousness and shown the way for the country by connecting people with socialist ideology. We are all on that path now,” he said.
The SP chief added, “We pledge to continue Netaji’s campaign to change people’s lives by further spreading his socialist values ​​and principles.”
Shivpal Singh Yadav, general secretary of the SP and younger brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav, while talking to reporters on the occasion, said, “Netaji spread Ram Manohar Lohia’s socialism across the country.”
“The work he did for farmers and the poor, what he did for students, businessmen and youth should not be forgotten. Today we pay tribute to Netaji and will take socialism forward by following his ideals and principles.”
On the second death anniversary of Mulayam Singh Yadav, his memorial was decorated with flowers and party flags were placed around it.
Members of the Yadav clan were also present on the occasion, including Mainpuri MP and Akhilesh’s wife Dimple Yadav, SP General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav and Badaun MP Dharmendra Yadav.
The SP founder, who was also Defense Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, passed away on October 10, 2022.
