Aldi drops boozy Specialbuy to create perfect cocktails for Sunday’s European Championship final
ENGLAND will face Spain in the final of Euro 2024 after conceding a last-minute goal.
As the Three Lions travel to Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Sunday hoping for a win, millions of us will be watching from home with a drink in hand.
In the true spirit of British football culture, it is always nice to have a drink to celebrate an important match.
Luckily, for those hosting a viewing party at home, keeping the cocktails flowing doesn’t have to cost the earth.
And that’s thanks to Aldi.
The budget supermarket has introduced a range of branded drinks especially for this weekend.
A large bottle costs just £14.99, which is cheaper than any other supermarket.
However, those looking for a bargain will have to be quick.
The bottles are sold as a Specialbuy offer. Gone = gone.
Gordon’s London Dry Gin, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold Rum and Antica Sambuca are all in the centre aisle today.
It’s never been cheaper to sip a G&T or make a martini from the comfort of your own home.
Perhaps it’s better to save the Sambuca shots until after the match, as no one wants to pass out before the opening whistle.
The Three Lions’ semi-final victory over the Netherlands was watched by a staggering 21.6 million people on ITV on Wednesday evening.
Their 2-1 victory was the most-watched television programme in 19 months.
This is the highest number of viewers on a single channel since December 2022, when the country watched England’s elimination from the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup on ITV.
Broadcasters are hoping that more than 30 million viewers will tune in to watch the final against Spain on Sunday night, given the viewing figures for England’s defeat in the Euro 2020 final.

There is even hope of an extra day off to celebrate a possible England victory at the European Championship.
Today, pleas were heard across the country as Sir Keir Starmer vowed to celebrate every victory.
Fans dared to dream of a day off, as calls grew for a national celebration, the Three Lions were allowed to declare 2024 the Year of England.
The new prime minister said he did not want to spoil the historic clash, but did not rule out giving millions of people time off work so they could enjoy the glory.
And an extra day off on Monday means you can enjoy cocktails with cheap drinks from Aldi after the match.
