Alexander Isak ‘REFUSED Manchester United before completing his £60million move to Newcastle after his representatives advised him not to move to Old Trafford’
- Alexander Isak recently became Newcastle United’s club record tally
- He joined Eddie Howe’s side of Real Sociedad for a fee in the region of £60m
- He had the chance to move to Man United before moving to Newcastle
- He turned down their offer after his representatives were advised to decline
Alexander Isak turned down the chance to join Manchester United before moving to Newcastle, according to reports in Spain.
The 22-year-old made his £60 million move from Real Sociedad to St James’ Park on Friday, with the Magpies paying a club-record fee for him.
It has emerged that he could have moved to United instead, but his representatives advised him to reject their advances, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

Manchester United wanted to sign Isak earlier this summer, but the attacker turned down their offer
It is understood that United have made a ‘juicy offer’ to Isak, although Sociedad has not received an official offer from the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag has been able to get five new signings through the door in his first transfer period in the dugout, including the Ajax duo Antony and Lisandro Martinez, plus series winner Champions League winner Casemiro.
Bringing in a new No9, however, has proved problematic.
The club kicked off the summer with Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial as their only recognized forwards, with the former now looking to leave Old Trafford to pursue Champions League football elsewhere.
Martial has also missed three of the team’s first four games this season due to fitness issues.

The 13-time Premier League champion has been linked with a number of forwards, including Marko Arnautovic, Mauro Icardi and Alvaro Morata, but has failed to secure a deal for any of these players.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is another potential target, in a move that could see Ronaldo go the other way, but time is running out for United to come to an agreement with their Serie A counterparts before Thursday’s deadline.
It seems Isak is another option that has slipped away from United, and the Swede is now waiting for his Premier League debut for Eddie Howe’s side.
He was unable to play against Wolves on Sunday as he failed to receive a work permit in time, and he is anxiously awaiting to get it before Newcastle returns to play against Liverpool on Wednesday.
