‘All cases were fictitious and hatched at BJP office in Delhi,’ says RJD MP Jha on Kejriwal’s bail – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court’s decision to entertain the judge’s petition has been welcomed. bail RJD MP Manoj Jha told Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party president and Delhi Chief Minister, that all these cases are fake and fictitious and the BJP is hatching such conspiracies in the BJP office in Delhi.
“This had to happen. This will happen in all cases because all the cases were fake, fictitious and concocted in the office of the Delhi BJP. Power keeps on passing. Listen to the Supreme Court’s observation in Hemant Soren’s case, read it and read about today’s case – it is a slap in the face of not just ED, IT and CBI but also those who are plotting this,” Manoj Jha said.
The RJD MP further criticised the BJP for misusing central agencies and said, “So, a clear message has been given. Be careful, tomorrow, when you are out of power, these agencies will also come knocking at your door. We will feel bad then, because there should be no place for feuds in politics. But today’s decision is welcome. Congratulations to MONKEY and her legal team.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj welcomed the bail of Delhi Home Minister and said the court order showed that the CBI had acted out of revenge.
“Today’s newspapers are reporting that around 40 people have been charged and only 2 are in jail today, so bail was assured. But what the Supreme Court has said about the Centre’s investigation agencies is a big criticism of the Centre… With this decision of the Supreme Court, I think if the Centre is ashamed, the Union HM should resign. CBI is under the MHA; the court has clearly said that the country’s premier agency has been working with a sense of vengeance,” he said.
However, Delhi BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva said the court had declared the arrest legal and Kejriwal should resign on moral grounds.
“Today Arvind Kejriwal has been released on bail. I would like to say that AAP has become a ‘jamanati club’ and Arvind Kejriwal is welcome there. The Supreme Court has made very serious observations, it said that the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal was legal, and if it was legal, then the court is satisfied with the facts and evidence of excise policy fraud presented before the court by investigating agencies. Bail does not mean acquittal, it is a legal process and everyone gets bail – the biggest example is Lalu Yadav… Arvind Kejriwal is also no exception. The cases are before the court, I think Kejriwal and his aides will be punished the day he is convicted… We urge that if he has any morality left, he should resign immediately,” Virendra Sachdeva said.
The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case registered by the CBI in the alleged excise policy fraud, saying prolonged imprisonment would amount to unjust deprivation of liberty.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had stayed the verdict on September 5 after hearing lawyers of Kejriwal and the CBI.
Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024 in connection with a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy for 2021-22. On June 26, 2024, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI while he was in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the excise case.
