Allen’s reveals little-known details about his iconic snakes, leaving lollipop lovers in a frenzy

Lollipop fans are furious after iconic Australian brand Allen’s revealed the real flavours of its famous snakes.

Red is not raspberry, yellow is not lemon and orange is not orange, according to the candy manufacturers, who list the actual flavors on the back of each package.

Red is strawberry, purple is blackberry and yellow is actually pineapple.

The green snake, which most fans think is lime, is actually lemon and the orange is described by the brand as apricot.

An outraged fan posted a shocked photo of the back of the package on Reddit.

“I refuse to believe these are the official flavors,” he said.

And the people quickly agreed with him.

“Green is lime green and orange is orange,” someone said.

“I’ve never tasted an apricot from their bag,” added another.

“I would rather cut out my own eyes than accept orange as apricot,” declared a third.

A fourth couldn’t take the news: ‘I’m going to die because green is not lemon. Green is either lime or green. It tastes green, not yellow.’

Many felt that Allen’s taste labels were “pointless.”

“Green is lemon!? No way. Lemons aren’t green,” said one man.

‘Tastes should taste like colours! This is political correctness gone completely mad,’ fumed another.

“It goes against everything colors stand for,” added a third.

Others joked about the idea that the snakes actually “tasted like fruit.”

“As red as strawberry? Absolutely not. It’s red flavor,” someone laughed.

“And purple is a purple flavor, a berry has nothing to do with it,” said another.

“They have different flavors?” asked another, who thought they all “taste the same.”

Others said the news had ruined their day: “I’m going back to bed.”

Another called the new packaging a “genius” sales technique.

“This is marketing nonsense to give the product the allure of being healthy. Look, fruit words,” they said.

Tanya Hennessy previously talked about the snake flavors, but fans have been paying more attention to them since they appeared on the packaging.
