Amazon on Thursday introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) video generation tool that can create ads. The e-commerce giant said the new video tool will allow advertisers to generate a “content-rich” video packed with the selling proposition and features of the product. The company claimed the video can create ads using just a single product image. In addition, Amazon also introduced a new live image capability to its existing image generator. Both tools are available in beta to select U.S. advertisers.
Amazon’s AI Video Generator for Ads
The new AI tools are being launched by Amazon Ads. In a newsroom afterthe company claimed that its video ad generator can create “engaging and relevant video ads for customers”. The e-commerce giant also claimed that its AI model can generate “visually rich” video content using a single product image. These videos can also be customized to include the product’s unique selling proposition (USP) and features.
Additionally, the company also released a new live image capability in its AI image generator aimed at enterprise customers. The new feature allows users to generate short, animated campaign images using AI, likely similar to the pop-up looping GIFs that appear as ads on various web pages. Both tools are currently available in beta. Amazon has shown off the live image feature, but has not shared any details about the video tool.
Meanwhile, an Amazon spokesperson is said to… told TechCrunch reports that the ad-specific AI video generator can create six- to nine-second videos at 720p resolution and 24 frames per second (fps). These videos would take up to five minutes to create, and each iteration would generate four variations for users to choose from.
However, it is not clear whether users can add natural language text prompts for specific instructions or if there are different methods to achieve the same thing. There is also no information on editing an already generated video.
The report also highlighted that all ads generated by the AI tool will follow a fixed template. There will be two scenes with headlines, background music and a call to action. In addition, the soundtrack could be customized. Furthermore, the top right corner of the frame would show the brand logo.
