American Airlines first class passenger furious after ‘entire flight with broken seat on lap’

An American Airlines first class passenger is furious after spending the entire flight with the front seat so far back that it was practically on ‘his lap’.

The traveler, who goes by the username @AV_Cova, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share his outrage after flying from Dallas, Texas, to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Sunday with little leg room.

He explained that he spent hundreds of dollars to upgrade his ticket for the 2.5-hour flight and expected to feel comfortable, but had the opposite experience.

The unnamed man said the seat directly in front of him was “broken,” preventing him from standing in its normal position.

Instead, he leaned so far back that he pressed against his knees during the flight, which “couldn’t use his tray” and left him with so little space that he couldn’t even stand up.

“Dude laying on my lap,” the traveler captioned a shot that showed the seat in front of him in the reclined position. “You continue to be awful, @AmericanAir.”

‘I can’t use my tray and I don’t have a chance to get up. I’m in [seat] 3C, so 2C is clearly broken,” he added in a second post.

“Get it fixed before someone else wastes a fortune on first class and gets fucked @AmericanAir.”

DailyMail.com has contacted American Airlines for comment.

His post quickly went viral and even caught the attention of the airline, which apologized for the accident.

‘Keeping our aircraft in top shape is always the goal. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention,” the company wrote.

“We will pass this on to the maintenance people for review. Our apologies again.’

“Maintenance isn’t going to assess the money I wasted…” the man replied, to which American replied, “We’re sorry to hear of any disappointment. We can only apologize for the inconvenience.”

Despite their apologies, his predicament led many people on the internet to bash the airline.

‘Thieves. Cheats,” someone replied, tagging the airline.

“I think this is ridiculous,” someone else said.

“Unacceptable for the largest airline in the world,” another added.

“Look at how American Airlines treats a first-class passenger who pays $500 extra for a first-class seat by merely offering an ‘apology’ for the excessive ‘inconvenience,'” a fourth tweet said.

“No wonder none of us will ever fly American Airlines again. We are also ‘disappointed’.

The man, who asked that his name be kept private, spoke up Fox News that the airline “offered him no perk or refund,” despite him paying more than $500 to upgrade to first class.

“No matter how I positioned myself, the chair was still against my knees,” he raged.

‘The gentleman in the seat in front of me was very sympathetic, but he was unable to lock the seat forward because it could not be operated.’
