Amit Shah: Spent years in jail to get justice on November 26
GANDHINAGAR: The Center will endeavor to ensure that all probationers who have served one-third of the maximum sentence for the crime they are accused of get justice before the Constitution Day celebrations, said Union Home Minister Amit Shah the Union Tuesday. The adoption of the Constitution is commemorated on November 26.
Shah said, “We have made 60 arrangements so that the court, prosecutor and police can complete their work within a specified time. We have also made provisions for prisons so that if there is no trial after a certain period, – except for non-serious crimes – the prison officer will have to submit the bail trial within the court.”
Cybercrime, infiltration, etc: Shah lists five security challenges
It is our effort that before Constitution Day, there should not be a single prisoner in the country’s prisons who has served one-third of his sentence and has not yet received justice. A lot of work has been done to make the police accountable and a lot has been done to empower the police,” Shah said at the 50th All India Police Science Conference.
The Home Minister also said that India and the world are facing the challenges of cybercrime, infiltration, illegal use of drones, narcotics and dark web misuse, and India will have to take the lead in finding solutions to these challenges. He added that law enforcement agencies must stay one step ahead of criminals in these five areas.
“These five areas will be a challenge not just for India but for the entire world,” Shah told around 250 delegates at the conference organized by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).
He said AIPSC should work on analyzing data to bring about changes in the system to reduce crime, its investigation and speedy justice. “AIPSC must use AI to make data more results-oriented and effective,” said Shah.
Commenting on three new criminal laws passed earlier this year, Shah said the Home Ministry made extensive preparations before implementing the three new laws. “After its implementation, justice will be delivered to people at SC level within three years from the date of registration of a first information report (FIR),” Shah added.
He said that 70,000 police stations were connected with CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems), 22,000 courts through e-courts, data of 2 crore prisoners are stored in the e-jail system and that of over 1.5 crore prosecutions in the e-prosecution system. , among others, more than 23 lakh forensic data in e-forensics.
