A WOMAN has revealed that to get some peace and quiet from her children she booked a local hotel for the night.
Alison Perry recently explained that she checked into a Travelodge to watch Netflix and eat snacks in peace.
The mum, who is known online as ‘the midlife mum’ and is from South East London, explained that she would much rather go on a spa holiday but that the cheap hotel room was much more affordable at just £39.
So if parenthood is stressing you out and you never find the time to relax, listen up.
Alison, a freelance writer, author and host of the Not Another Mummy podcast, showed off her hotel stay on Instagram: “I don’t know about you, but every now and then I need a break from mum life.
“But unfortunately at the moment my budget doesn’t extend to a spa holiday so I headed to the local Travelodge.

“Highly recommended for all exhausted parents who need some time for themselves!”
As we saw Alison enter her hotel room, she asked her followers: “Would you judge me if I told you I booked a stay at my local Travelodge just to escape my kids for one night?”
The mum was then seen jumping onto the hotel bed as she added: ‘I mean, I love a spa holiday but unfortunately I can’t afford one.
“So for just £39 I got a quiet evening away watching Netflix and eating snacks without any interruptions.”
Alison was clearly having a good time as she put on a face mask, changed into her pajamas and started reading her book.
She then continued: “I brought along a chic candle, some sleepy tea and a face mask to really pamper myself.
“It was the perfect way to recharge my batteries.
“What do you think though? Would you try the same?”
The social media video, which was posted under the username @iamalisonperryhas clearly left many open-mouthed, as at the time of writing the clip had quickly amassed 1,087 likes after being live for just seven hours.
‘Brilliant idea’
Many parents used the comments to share their thoughts, while other busy mums admitted they had thought about it before too.
One person said: “No judgement, just praise, you absolute legend.
“I tried and tested this and I can confirm that I felt ten times better the next day.”
Another added: “I always fantasized about doing this when the kids were little!”
