The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards publicly referred to her shock split from Mauricio Umansky as a “divorce” for the first time.
They split three months after the revelation but were still living under the same roof, albeit in different rooms, the reality star, 54, told how her strained marriage has affected her.
‘I have experienced a lot in the past year that has changed you. Losing my best friend to suicide changed me. Going through my divorce has made me stronger, but it certainly changes you as a person. I feel good,” she said at BravoCon, according to TooFab.
When asked if there is “any chance of reconciliation” between her and 53-year-old Umansky, the Halloween star said she is taking it “day by day.”

“I’m grateful that we get along so well, love each other very much and that we put our family first,” Richards said. “We still live together under the same roof and I’m proud of the way we’re navigating this. I just take it one day at a time.’
While talking about watching the current season of RHOBH, she said it was “really hard” to see her “kids’ faces” during “those conversations.”
“I haven’t even seen last week’s episode, I’m trying to watch it on my phone and I’m like, ugh, I’m getting stressed and then I forgot it was on,” the mother of four added. ‘This is what happens after thirteen years. I forgot to look at it and didn’t even remember posting about it. So maybe that’s an unconscious thing I do. It will be hard to relive all that.”
Her comment comes after she admitted that she and Umansky were going through a rough patch on Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I think he put his heart and soul into The Agency,” Kyle said in a confessional referencing Mauricio’s ever-expanding real estate business. “So it’s the other woman.”
On Live! With Kelly and Mark, the actress confirmed last month that she was “spending a lot of time away” from the real estate agent before they split because she needed “freedom” and “space” from her husband of 27 years.
Despite their split, Richards recently revealed she was “surprised” by his apparent date with DWTS partner Emma Slater.
‘That was very difficult to see. Yeah, that hurt my feelings,” she said on Andy Cohen’s late night talk show, On Watch What Happens Live.
She added: ‘Listen, I love him very much and we are friendly, but that really hurt me.’

After revealing she was affected by their public display of affection, sources exclusively told DailyMail.com that Mauricio and Emma are now trying to ‘tone down’ their ‘budding romance’.
The insider also revealed that their “chemistry” is very real and is anything but a “showmance.”
However, Umansky and Slater insisted on Instagram that they are “not dating.”
“We’re really good friends, we’ve been dancing together for six weeks now, four hours a day, every day,” he told his followers.
“Guys, it’s intense,” Emma, 34, added. “Like you really form a very, very special bond and I think we have similar personalities, so we have a super supportive – last week was extremely emotional – so super supportive relationship, we’re definitely there for each other. It’s beautiful, that’s a wonderful thing!’

Mauricio insisted it was all exaggerated as he explained what happened: “We’re really good friends, and just to be clear, right after the rehearsal we went to a restaurant to get sushi, we had our rehearsal clothes on. A lot of the stories are wrong, a lot of them.
‘Yes, it’s a very intense week, a very emotional week, we were talking about the week at dinner, and when we came out to dinner we were recapping and I reached out to take Emma’s hand and she took my hand, and as we walked to the cars, you know, just recapping and recapping, and then the paparazzi caught that moment and it became a blown-out moment,” he continued.
“And then suddenly we’re dating,” Emma joked.
‘That is it. I hope this clarifies. That’s the end of that story,” Mauricio said.
Since announcing his divorce from his wife earlier this year, Kyle has been linked to country singer Morgan Wade, but the duo have denied being in a relationship with each other.
Mauricio and Kyle announced in July that they were splitting up after 27 years of marriage.
