The burger chain says the range is made from recycled polyester.

A photo of the brightly colored T-shirts, bandanas, jeans and white sneakers was leaked in a Facebook group.

Staff criticized the idea of white shoes in a kitchen, while another hoped it was an April Fool’s joke.

One employee told The Sun: “It all feels very woke.

“If I had to wear it, I would run away.”

“And I’m pretty sure most of my colleagues would too.

“People will be discouraged from working there.

“It changes the look to a more urban style that doesn’t fit the brand at all.

“I just don’t understand it.

“I think they’re trying to be more like and copy Five Guys – sacrificing practicality for style.”

South London worker Bukky said: “It’s important to me that I have the ability to choose what I wear.”

The clothing will be trialled in select restaurants in the coming weeks, with a launch in early 2025.

James Thorne of McDonald’s UK & Ireland said: “It gives team members the opportunity to create a look that reflects who they are.”
