My generation is lazy – people could be rich in their twenties if they stopped mindlessly scrolling

A 23-year-old millionaire has criticized his ‘work-shy’ generation for ‘mindless scrolling’ – saying that any young people who are ‘triggered’ by his words are simply ‘lazy’.

Entrepreneur Luke Lintz, from Canada, has always been hungry for success. He started a company with his brothers, Jordan and Jackson, just 16 years old – and he claims the company is now worth eight figures.

Luke, who has 1.1 million followers Instagramhas revealed how he overcame personal challenges including his parents’ messy divorce, a difficult upbringing, and childhood stutters to carve out his own path in life.

And he believes more Gen Zers could do the same if they just stopped staring at their social media feeds.

The jet-setter, who has a luxurious flat, super-fast cars and travels to exotic locations with his ‘stay-at-home’ girlfriend, also shares the secrets of his success.

“Too many young people make excuses when they could make money,” said the owner of HighKey, who is originally from Canada but now lives in Puerto Rico.

“People can blame the economy, but in the end you get back the value you contribute.

“You have to surround yourself with driven people to be successful and I couldn’t find that crowd by staying in my small hometown.

‘I know I really disappointed my parents when I decided to leave university to run my own business.

“At first my father was so upset that he kicked me out of the house – which meant I had to make my own success from day one.

“But it all turned out well, he invested in the company even later and I know he is proud of me now.

“I haven’t taken a day off in seven years.

“There are so many options, but most people in their twenties are addicted to scrolling on their phones.”

Ironically, despite telling young people to lay off social media, Luke made his fortune through Instagram ads.

He started creating advertisements to sell physical products and later moved into digital promotion and PR.

He said, “I decided from an early age that I wasn’t going to be victimized or confused by a troubled childhood.

“When I was a lot younger, my parents went through a hostile divorce that had been going on for 14 years — and at some point the case went to the Supreme Court of Canada.

“Because of the trauma, I developed a stuttering and speech impediment, and for a while I just decided not to talk.

“I just kept quiet and as a middle child I was able to hide among my brothers, but overcoming these issues was the foundation of my resilience.

“I knew I had it in me to be a leader.

“I’m not a quitter, but so many of my generation are.

“They are lazy and want shortcuts in life instead of doing the work that is necessary.”

Luke employs 75 full-time employees and the company aims to exceed $100 million in revenue over the next five years.

HOW TO GET RICH ACCORDING TO A HOMEMADE MILLIONAIRE

Luke isn’t just here to beat young people – he also has valuable advice for them and shares the secrets of his success.

The entrepreneur has even set up a series on YouTube called Road To A Billion to help other budding entrepreneurs.

He said, “I’ve worked 100-hour weeks on tough times and big projects.

‘Not many young people have that drive.

‘Don’t be afraid to screw up; I have and we lost a lot of money in the beginning – and had to sell all of our products without turning a profit once.

“But we haven’t stopped.

‘That’s the trick: you have to see through it and learn from your mistakes. The only way to lose is if you quit.

“Ignore anyone who doesn’t believe in you.

“My brothers and I have been called ‘cringe’ and ‘daddy’s money’ by jealous trolls online, but caring about what other people think won’t get you very far.

“Now I keep my circle small and focus on the work.

“I’m glad I can show up every day for the company I love.”

He lifts weights every day, reads books on marketing and business, and travels as much as he can.

Company ambitions aside, Luke also has one of his own goals: to become a billionaire by 40.

And he happily spends his hard-earned money on himself and his girlfriend, Kendel Kay, 25.

Luke said, “I like spending money and it motivates me to earn more.

“I live with my girlfriend in a condo right on the beach – it costs $9,500 a month – but we also like to travel.

“Traveling in style is my favorite way to splash.

‘We always get luxury rooms in the best hotels.

‘I also like jewelry and cars – I want to experience the most beautiful things.

‘When I was 20, I even bought myself a striking Lamborghini with gold rims.

‘I don’t make money to be happy. I’m already happy. The work I do and the journey I take makes me happy.

“I want to inspire other young people to rise up and seize opportunities when they come, rather than hold themselves back from success.”
