The Oscars 2024 carpet plays host to some of the biggest and brightest stars in Hollywood tonight, but it also serves as the backdrop to some of the awards season’s most shocking missteps.

As we come to the end of another awards season, one thing is painfully evident at the 96th Academy Awards: some stars simply haven’t learned their style lessons.

Even before official red carpet coverage had begun, several stars had already taken a rather unstylish step forward at the ceremony, with The Cosby Show star Erika Alexander being one of the first newcomers to rock the plank with their ensemble for the evening missed.

The 54-year-old movie star and writer wore a rather stunning dress with a simple white strapless silhouette, which would have been incredibly elegant if not for the huge black, purple, pink and green tutu-style skirt. was laced around her waist, covering much of the simple dress design underneath.

The Cosby Show star Erika Alexander wore what would have been a very elegant white dress – if it weren’t for the huge black, purple, pink and green tutu-like skirt that was laced around her waist

The 54-year-old turned heads for all the wrong reasons thanks to the flashy tulle accessory, which peeked out behind her as she walked the red carpet

YouTube star Liza Koshy’s dress was absolutely stunning – but the insanely high heels she wore with it led to a red carpet disaster when she fell over in front of the cameras

Nikki Novak continued the tulle trend in a voluminous pink one, which not only clashed terribly with the red carpet, but also made her look like a rather sugary cake topper.

E! host Keltie Knight took the Barbiecore trend a little too far in her shockingly light dress, which featured a ridiculous-looking puffy pink bow that made her look like a duvet

Former Vogue editor Lisa Love’s red suit was not only a little unflattering, it also matched the red carpet a little too perfectly, making it look like the 69-year-old was wearing camouflage.

YouTube star Liza Koshy also managed to land a spot on the worst-dressed list at this year’s awards show – not because of her dress, but rather because of the insanely high heels she paired with it, which proved so difficult for her to wear. that she ended up taking an embarrassing fall in front of the photographer while walking the red carpet.

The 27-year-old, who rose to fame as an online star, initially appeared to have scored a style victory as she stepped onto the red carpet in a stunning dark red dress.

But just moments later, she fell off both the best-dressed list and the red carpet when she fell over and her legs flew into the air to reveal her rather ridiculous choice of shoes.

Liza wasn’t the only star to hit a fashion hurdle at tonight’s event; former Vogue editor Lisa Love also suffered a style flaw in her bright red suit, which not only had an unflattering silhouette but was also the exact same color as the carpet beneath her feet.

Composer Laura Karpman’s stunning, sequin-covered ensemble made her look like she was cosplaying as the Tin Man – while the sunglasses and shoes could have been better used as part of a Halloween costume

The overall effect made it look as if the fashion expert was wearing camouflage for the occasion.

Barbiecore was alive and well on the Oscars red carpet, continuing a trend sparked last year by the release of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s hit film about the iconic doll.

But E! Host Keltie Knight’s attempt to join the popular fashion movement failed miserably, with her gaudy fuchsia dress looking far too bright – while the addition of a huge puffy bow at the front made her look like she was wearing a duvet instead of a couture design.
