LEG 1: Astral Beau, Charyn

ASTRAL BEAU was the impressive winner of this in the mud, twelve months before competing in group matches at Newmarket and Epsom. She’s at her best after a break and this doesn’t look any tougher than last year.

CHARYN was third in August’s Group 2 when last seen and is respected despite his dismissal.

LEG 2: Mystical elegance, Roysdelight

We know connections from MYSTICAL ELEGANCE will have her fit and ready to go after their narrow miss in this 12 months ago. She is just about the most expensive runner in the field and has an excellent pilot in David Egan.

ROYSDELIGHT seems to have solid breeding claims.

LEG 3: Thunder Roar, Harswell Duke

THUNDER ROAR came into his own on tough ground last season with victories at Doncaster and York. That bodes well for Donny’s sympathy and Jamie Spencer is able to get him home late with what seems like a very reasonable handicap.

HARSWELL-DUKE won it last year and has followed a similar path this time. We know that the trip and the circuit are ideal and that he will like the conditions.

LEG 4: Marshman, Baradar

MARSHMAN has won the first time in both of his seasons and can continue that streak. This time last year he landed a Group 3 in France before holding his own in classier company. This drop to the Listed level in his favorite field will make him difficult to stop.

BARADAR won here in September before bombing over a mile at Ascot. This trip is much better and he looks a big threat, having won even after a break.

LEG 5: Chazzesmee, Blues Emperor

CHAZZESMEE can achieve the Lincoln double after winning the Irish version at The Curragh on Monday. He looked classy as he weaved his way through the large field before winning with plenty left in the tank.

Johnny Murtagh only comes across with live odds so Curragh and Naas are the winners BLUES EMPEROR is able to get close.

LEG 6: King’s reign, age-old myth

KING’S GOVERNMENT was an expensive signing who looked very green when finishing fourth on his Wolverhampton debut. There’s much more to come.

OLD MYTH was a promising second on his last run and can build on that.
