Bayern is overshadowed in the Bundesliga by Bayer Leverkusen and is also in danger of being expelled from the Champions League.

Kane's personal contributions have also declined rapidly.

At the start of the month he celebrated his 28th Bayern goal since last leaving Tottenham summer.

But he failed to register a single shot goal in his last two games.

Tuchel said: “Harry looks after himself. He doesn't need me.

“He's not happy with the connection in games.

“We neither. I have rarely seen such a discrepancy between training and competitions.

“The way he scores in training, the way he creates his chances: it's unbelievable.

“It's world class. But we rarely see it in matches.”

A 3-0 league loss at Leverkusen and a 1-0 first leg in the Champions League match Lazio have put Tuchel in danger for the plunder.

Top 10 highest paid footballers in the world announced, with no Premier League players in the top five

And Leverkusen's 2-1 win over Heidenheim yesterday put Xabi Alonso's side eight points clear at the top.

“Tuchel cannot afford another setback tomorrow in struggling Bochum.

The former Chelsea boss added: “Maybe the current state of affairs will give us that decisive kick.

“The atmosphere is obviously a bit gloomy. That said, we're not out of the Champions League yet. We are all determined to turn things around.

'We will give everything to the energy we must turn our fortunes around.

“At Bayern it's about always getting back up and putting your neck on the line.

“We are still in second place. We don't have to be ashamed of that. We don't need compassion.

“I don't expect a walk in the park in Bochum. It will be a difficult field, a difficult opponent, who has achieved good results recently.

“We have also adjusted our training, but that is normal.

“After two defeats in one week, there is no point in carrying on.”
