In her viral videoTikTok user Samina Iltaf (@samina_iltaf) explained why she avoids a popular hack and which gadget she chooses instead.

When one of her followers asked her if she had tried the Fairy Liquid hack, the TikToker revealed why she avoids it.

The trick is to apply the cleaning product to your window, which will prevent condensation on the glass by creating a barrier.

By rubbing Fairy Liquid on areas where condensation may occur, you prevent water from sticking to the glass.

However, Samina pointed out one problem she has with the DIY condensation hack.

“No, condensation gets on the walls and ceiling,” she explained.

Instead, it ensures that the condensation is completely removed from the room.

Samina does this with the help of the Mr. Siga Multi-Purpose Squeegee from Amazon.

The gadget is currently available for just £8.49 as part of a Black Friday sale.

It has received an average rating of 4.4 out of five stars from Amazon shoppers.

My windowsills were dripping wet with condensation every morning, but with a purchase of € 2.99 I got rid of it immediately

“It would be easier to take it off the windows and clean it than if it were hanging on the wall,” Samina noted.

She demonstrated how to use the handy device, which instantly removed condensation from her window.

Her followers shared their thoughts on the recommendation in the comments section.

“I’m a window cleaner, the fairy trick is b****x,” one TikTok user agreed.

“Fairy Liquid lasts a day and then comes right back, not worth the hassle!!” said another viewer.

Cheap Condensation Hacks

1. Use salt or cat litter

– Place bowls of salt or silica-based cat litter in areas that are sensitive to moisture. These materials are excellent at absorbing moisture from the air.

2. DIY dehumidifier

– Make a simple dehumidifier using a plastic container with a lid. Make holes in the lid, fill the container with silica gel or activated carbon and place it in damp areas.

3. Ventilate while cooking and showering

– Open windows or use exhaust fans when cooking or showering to allow moisture to escape. Even a small difference can make a big difference.

4. Wipe Windows clean

– Wipe windows and other cold surfaces regularly with a dry cloth to remove condensation. This prevents moisture from accumulating and causing mold.

5. Use houseplants

– Certain houseplants, such as lilies and spider plants, can help absorb moisture from the air. They also improve indoor air quality.

6. Keep lids on jars

– Keep lids on pots and pans while cooking to reduce the amount of steam released into the air.

7. Dry clothes outside

– If possible, dry clothes outside or in a well-ventilated area, rather than using indoor drying racks.

8. Open curtains and blinds

– Open curtains and blinds during the day to allow sunlight to warm the windows and reduce condensation. Sunlight also helps reduce mold growth.

9. Use towels wisely

– Keep towels and other fabrics away from walls and windows to prevent them from absorbing moisture and becoming damp.

10. Seal cracks and holes

– Use inexpensive weather stripping or caulk to seal any cracks or holes around windows and doors. This helps keep cold air out and warm air in, reducing condensation.

“Bro, my family has one of these machines and they really work so well, I definitely recommend it,” said a third person.

“The first thing my husband said was that it would collect in other places in the room,” another follower wrote.

“Ooh! I used an old towel but I still have one somewhere! I have to find it,” said one viewer.

“That was my response. All it does is stop condensation from forming on the window, it doesn’t stop it from forming,” another commenter agreed.

“The dish soap hack did absolutely nothing to prevent condensation in my home. Waste of [an] pain in my arms,” one TikTok user wrote.
