Analysis | Katie Couric’s Self-Destructing Attempt to ‘Protect’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The final version of the story, which was intended to promote a compilation of Ginsburg’s writings called My Own Words, featured her criticism of “stupid” and “arrogant” protesters.

But what was left out was arguably more incendiary.

Ginsburg went on to say that such protests show “contempt for a government that has allowed their parents and grandparents to live decent lives.”

She said: ‘Which they probably couldn’t have lived in the places they came from…as they got older, they realized this was youthful folly. And that’s why education is important.’

Couric claims she “slept a lot of this” and still struggles with the decision she made.
