- Will appear in court today
Former TV presenter Andrew O’Keefe has been charged after testing positive for drugs.
Officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command are said to have arrested the 52-year-old at 11.45am on Sunday. He was found behind the wheel of a Mercedes sedan on Cranbrook Road in the affluent Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill.
He was then arrested and returned with a positive drug test on the road. It comes just weeks after he was caught driving while his license was suspended.
Police allege O’Keefe threatened a man at an address on Longworth Ave in the adjacent Point Piper neighbourhood for a “short period of time” before being arrested by officers.
He was taken to Waverley police station for a second saliva test, which reportedly returned a positive result.
The sample has been sent for analysis.
Following investigation, O’Keefe was charged with violating a prohibition/restriction in AVO and stalking/intimidation with intent to commit physical violence.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Waverley District Court on Monday.

Sunday’s arrest comes after O’Keefe was given a court warning for driving while disqualified on June 20 after a vehicle pulled him over in Bellevue Hill.
In January, he was also convicted of domestic violence dating back to September 2021, for which he kicked and spat on a woman.
He was found guilty of common assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, two charges of possession of a prohibited drug and breaching an imposed violence order.
However, he avoided a prison sentence and was given a 12-month community service order and three 18-month community service orders for domestic violence.
