Apple brings Vision Pro to China, Japan, Singapore and other markets
Apple Vision Pro will soon be available for sale in China, France and other international markets, the company announced Monday at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Apple’s first-ever spatial computing device was first introduced at WWDC 2023 and went on sale six months later, but sales were initially limited to the US market. However, Apple says it is now bringing the Vision Pro to other international markets starting June 28. China, Japan and Singapore will be among the first new countries to get it in stores.
Apple Vision Pro availability expanded
Pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore will begin on Friday, June 14 at 6 a.m. local time, the company said. announced during the event. The headset will begin shipping on June 28. Meanwhile, customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the UK can pre-order the mixed-reality headset starting at 5 a.m. local time on June 28, with availability starting on July 12.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said in the announcement, “The enthusiasm for Apple Vision Pro has been extraordinary, and we’re excited to introduce the magic of spatial computing to more customers around the world.”
Apple Vision Pro Price
Notably, Apple Vision Pro starts at $3,499 (approximately Rs. 2,90,000) in the US and comes in three storage variants — 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Additionally, users can opt to purchase additional Zeiss Optical Inserts that cost $99 (approximately Rs. 8,000) for reading lenses and $149 (approximately Rs. 12,000) for prescription lenses.
Potential buyers who purchase the Vision Pro can book a 30-minute demo session at their local Apple Store, according to Apple. This includes scanning the face with Face ID, trying out different loops and light seals to ensure a perfect fit on the face without any discomfort, and adjusting lens inserts.
They’ll also get a brief demonstration of visionOS, the operating system that powers the headset, and its capabilities. The demo will also allow buyers to get used to the basic functions of the Vision Pro and the eye movements, gestures and voice commands needed to navigate the user interface, Apple claims.
