Apple releases Final Cut Pro 11 with AI features and spatial video editing

Apple on Wednesday released Final Cut Pro 11, the successor to the Final Cut Pro This major update introduces features such as Magnetic Mask, Transcribe to Captions, and tools to edit spatial video titles and captured footage. In addition, the Cupertino-based tech giant has also rolled out updates to Final Cut Pro for iPad, Final Cut Camera and Logic Pro.

In a newsroom afterthe tech giant has detailed the new features introduced in Final Cut Pro 11. The new version of the video editing software now gets two new AI features, which use Apple’s M-series chipsets. The first is the Magnetic Mask feature. The feature can isolate people and objects in a video clip even if no green screens have been used. The tech giant says this tool will allow users to customize wallpapers and environments. Magnetic Mask can also be used with color correction and video effects.

Another AI-powered feature introduced in the new Final Cut Pro is Transcribe to Captions. Allows users to automatically generate subtitles in the video timeline. The company claimed that it uses a native large language model (LLM) that can transcribe spoken audio.

In addition, the Final Cut Pro 11 also has the ability to edit spatial videos. These videos can be captured with the Apple Vision Pro, iPhone 15 Pro models, and the iPhone 16 series. The video editing software can perform color corrections, adjust the depth position of titles and footage and more.

Users can select different viewing modes to focus on the left or right eye corner when editing spatial videos. Once edited, the spatial videos can be directly exported to a user’s photo library and viewed on Vision Pro.

The Final Cut Pro 11 also retains existing features like the magnetic timeline, multicam editing, improved proxy tools, and more.
