Apple Store app update offers more personalized suggestions
Apple has updated the company’s Apple Store app, bringing with it new options and personalization settings. The latest update to Apple’s store platform, where users can learn about, explore and buy the company’s devices, has received a major overhaul, including a “For You” section that is said to offer users a more personalized experience. Two existing options in the app’s user interface (UI) have also been updated by the Cupertino company, though they still appear to offer the same navigation features.

According to Apple’s release notes, the “For You” section in the Apple Store app now offers relevant suggestions. It can also notify the user about ongoing promotions, such as free Apple Music offers or limited trials of Apple TV+.
Meanwhile, the Store option has been replaced by ProductsAnd Continue is now visible instead of SessionsHowever, both features still navigate to their previous respective pages, with the former taking users to the store screen, while the latter invokes Apple sessions.
In addition to these changes, Apple also introduced a new data collection feature that collects information about users’ subscriptions and shopping activity in order to make suggestions. However, this is said to be an opt-in feature, meaning users will not be automatically opted in. Apple says users will be able to change this through settings.
The update also brings a new video series called “Today at Apple.” It consists of short videos with information about Apple devices and tips on their features. The full release notes for the Apple Store app read:
- A fresh, more curated experience that makes it easier and faster to find the most relevant content in the For You tab, shop the latest products in the Products tab, and make the most of the devices you already own in the Continue tab.
- Watch the new Today at Apple video series featuring special guests who will inspire you to do more with your devices.
- New options to customize your privacy settings and preferences give you more control over how Apple uses the data you share with us.
The Apple Store app is free to download on Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
