Apple Watch 10 rumors of improved sensors and water resistance
We’re all geared up for Apple’s ‘Glowtime’ event this coming Monday. One of the products on display is the Apple Watch 10, an upgrade that will feature improved sensors and improved water resistance, according to a new report.
This comes from “reliable sources” who speak with 9to5Macand the new models will reportedly not only come with larger displays, but also an improved ECG and heart rate sensor that “unlocks new features and delivers more accurate results.”
One of those new features is sleep apnea detection, 9to5Mac says — something Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also predicted. Sleep apnea is a potentially serious condition in which breathing stops and starts again during the night.
While the Apple Watch 10 can’t diagnose sleep apnea, it can alert you if you have it, so you can talk to your doctor about it and get tested, according to these reports.
Improved water resistance
There are also new watch faces coming, according to 9to5Mac: “Reflections” (which reacts to ambient light) and “Regatta” from Hermès, named after the sailing race of the same name and featuring the ability to start a timer right on the watch face.
Improved water resistance is also said to be on the way. Unlike the Apple Watch 9, the Apple Watch 10 is said to get the Depth app, which is currently exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
The new Apple Watch 10 will reportedly be certified for high-speed water sports, which the Apple Watch 9 is not, up to a depth of 20 meters. It’s unclear whether the Apple Watch 9’s overall 50-meter water resistance will change as well.
According to 9to5Mac, the new watch will come in two sizes that are slightly larger than the current 41mm and 45mm offerings, with tweaks to the resolution as well. We’ll see the new smartwatches alongside the iPhone 16 on Monday.
