The analysts said the upcoming version will include Apple’s first custom 5G modem. Other rumored specs include a design similar to the iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch OLED display, the same A-series chip as the iPhone 16, a USB-C port and 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence , according to MacRumors. Moreover, the device is expected to replace Touch ID with Face ID.
Apple did not respond to a request for comment.
Over the years, the company has steadily upgraded its iPhone SE line with more advanced features. The latest version, which is expected to stay under $500, could represent a significant step forward with the addition of its own 5G modem.
Apple has reportedly been working on this modem for years in an effort to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm.
