The Queensland waitress who got into a fight with Katy Perry over a cafe table has revealed details about her embarrassing encounter with the pop superstar.

Indianna Paull went viral on TikTok earlier this week after she revealed she had served the American singer, 37, while working at a cafe in Port Douglas on Saturday.

Indianna, who didn’t recognize Katy under her hat and sunglasses, told the Roar hitmaker to wait for a table to become available.

Discussing the interaction on Thursday’s Sunrise, Indianna clarified that Katy wasn’t acting like a diva and insisted the star had a very good reason for wanting the first available table.

‘Looking back, the reason she wanted in’ [the café] was because people were taking pictures of her,” she told co-hosts Natalie Barr and David Koch.

“I was so oblivious, running around like a headless chunk, I had no idea!” she laughed.

Indianna Paull, the Queensland waitress who got into a fight with Katy Perry over a cafe table, shared new details of her embarrassing encounter with the global pop star during an interview with Sunrise on Thursday.

Indianna praised Katy for behaving “normally” and taking the rejection “like a champ” rather than throwing a tantrum.

“I think part of the reason I didn’t recognize her was because she was so relaxed and chill about it,” Indianna explained.

“She didn’t have the appearance of making it seem like she was worried about waiting for a table… She handled it like a champ.”

After their initial confrontation, Indianna eventually agreed to seat Katy at a table not for customers before scolding the star for breaking the rules.

“I walked over there, made a fool of myself and said, ‘Just for the future, just know we can’t seat people at this table,'” she recalls.

Indianna said she was mortified to learn that the client she had just chastised was Katy Perry.

“I felt like a fool and went to apologize to me. I was a bit shocked that I was acting like a casual Joe Blow… and I can believe how nice she was,” she continued, before confirming that Katy had left a “generous” tip.

When questioned about the exact amount Katy tipped her, Indianna remained reluctant.

“We get more than the usual $2 thrown in the bucket!” she laughed.
