NEW DELHI: As long as the Bharatiya Janata Party has existed in India, the party has been based on religion minorities doesn’t get an A reservationUnion Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday warned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after the senior party promised to make reservations for Muslims.
Tackling a rally in Jharkhand‘s Palamu asked Amit Shah whether reservations would be made on the basis of religion on what will happen to dalits and tribals.
“The Congress Party is talking about reservations. There is no provision for reservation on the basis of religion in the Constitution. We can never make reservations for any particular religion. In Maharashtra, a group of Ulemas gave them (Congress) a memorandum that Muslims should be given 10 percent reservation and the state Congress party president said we will help you in this,” the Union minister alleged at a meeting.

“I have come to ask the people of Jharkhand: If Muslims get 10 percent reservation, whose reservation will be reduced? The reservation of backward classes, Dalits and tribals will be reduced. I want to warn Rahul Gandhi from here. Rahul Baba, whatever conspiracy you have in mind, as long as the Bharatiya Janata Party is there, minorities in this country will not get reservations,” he added.
Shah termed the Congress as “anti-OBC” and alleged that their governance was consistently disadvantaging the OBC community, especially with regard to the implementation of both the Kaka Kalelkar Committee and Mandal Committee reports.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives, highlighting implementation of 27 percent OBC reservation and setting up of National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC).
“Congress is an anti-OBC party. Every time they came to power they wronged them. The Kaka Kalelkar Commission was formed in 1950, but its report disappeared. When the Mandal Commission came to provide reservations for the OBCs, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi opposed its implementation. It took years for 27 percent of OBCs in central institutions to get reservations. In 2014, when the public voted for the Modi government, he implemented 27 percent reservation for OBCs. He constituted the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) and gave it a constitutional place,” he said while addressing the gathering in Jharkhand’s Chhatarpur.

Shah criticized the INDIA alliance and called the JMM, Congress and RJD coalition in Jharkhand the most corrupt government in the country.
Amit Shah stated, “We came here to take a call to bring the BJP government in the state as the present state government is mired in corruption. The JMM, Congress and RJD government is the most corrupt government of the country. Has anyone ever seen A total of more than Rs 300 crore was seized from a Congressman’s house.
About 27 machines were brought to count the money, but those machines got tired after counting such a huge amount of money. Alamgir Alam was a minister in the state government. Even Rs 30 crore was seized from his PA house but neither Hemant Soren nor Congress did anything to him. This money is yours, it belongs to the youth and poor of Jharkhand, who have eaten these Congressmen. If you form a BJP government in the state, we will put the corrupt people behind bars.”
