A crash with a tour bus and a Nissan SUV in Los Angeles early on Sunday morning killed at least one person and left 32 other people injured, the authorities said.
The crash happened around 5 am on the 60 highway in Hacienda Heights, which is about 20 miles southeast of the city of Los Angeles.
When firefighters arrived, the SUV was completely flooded in flames, but the fire did not spread to the bus, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The driver of the SUV, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died, officer Zachary Salazar of the California Highway Patrol told the news exit KTLA5. At least 63 people were on the bus, said officer Salazar.
Six people were taken to hospitals for serious injury, said Fredrick Fielding, a public information officer for La County Fire. Twenty -six other patients were brought to hospitals with minor injuries, he said. The remaining passengers were released.
Photos show that the bus on the shoulder of the highway is tilted with damage to the front bumper and his windshield sealed.
