Attadale crash: Bailey Burns remembered as a loving soul after high-speed crash in Perth
The family and friends of a young man are shocked after he died in a high-speed accident.
Bailey Burns, 23, lost control of his car and crashed into a tree on the Canning Highway in Attadale, south of Perth, early Saturday morning.
Western Australia Police have since confirmed that officers attempted to arrest Mr Burns at the time after seeing his Holden Statesman travelling in the opposite direction at high speed.
He died on the spot, despite desperate attempts by emergency services to save him.
Shocking images from the scene show the car flipped over and split in half from the force of the impact, with parts of the vehicle strewn across the Canning Highway and against a tree.
Burns’ death prompted an outpouring of tributes on social media.
“Still shocked to my core to hear this. Rest in peace,” one person wrote.
Another added: ‘Hold your loved ones a little closer.’

A few hours after his death, a GoFundMe was established to help Mr Burns’ family pay for a funeral and the ‘farewell he deserves’.
“For those in the know, we all recently lost a loved one: Bailey Burns,” the fundraising page reads.
‘With this Go Fund Me we want to cover the funeral costs and all other related matters. Our family appreciates every donation, big or small.’
Within hours, GoFundMe raised more than $34,000.
The scale of the devastation shocked residents living near the crash site.
“It was actually quite scary. There was total silence, not a single other car in sight. When I walked outside it was creepy, there’s no doubt about it,” said a long-time local. The Western Australian.

‘There were just pieces of car all over the road. It was just the horror of scrap metal everywhere. Some pieces had been thrown over a person’s gate.
“It didn’t sound like a crash, but a dull thud. Like something had fallen on your roof. It wasn’t a tinny sound like a crash.”
Investigators of the major crash have examined the crime scene, while the Internal Affairs department has launched its own investigation.
